Editorial Policy

Data first, words second

Every city guide starts as a research brief: city building-department fee schedules, permit and impact-fee amounts published for that market, public permit records, and lot-development rules (setbacks, lot coverage, ADU-specific ordinances) that affect what can be built and what it costs. If research can't surface enough distinct, verifiable local data for a city, we don't publish a page for it.

AI-assisted, human-reviewed

We use AI tools to help draft guides from those research briefs. Drafts are bound by hard rules: every price, fee, or permit fact must come from the research brief — nothing invented. Each page then passes an automated quality gate and editorial review before publication. Pages that fail are rejected, not patched.

Independence

  • We are not a builder or contractor and do not perform construction work.
  • Named local builders appear as examples found in research — never as endorsements.
  • Referral partnerships (see disclosure) never change a page's data or rankings. We do not accept payment for coverage.

Corrections

Permit fees and lot-development rules change. If you spot an error, use the quote form on any page to reach us with a note — corrections ship in our regular content-update cycle, and materially wrong pages are pulled until fixed.
